For Stronger, Healthier Babies Layout

My son was a 27 week preemie weighing only 2lb 7oz.  I had a completely normal pregnancy up until April 25, 2012 when I woke up with contractions.  By the time I got to see my doctor I was already 10cm.  Both my son & I had 2 really hard months.  He actually did much better than I did!  He was only in the NICU for 60 days before we brought him home for good.  We were not prepared for our journey but I can say that I appreciate so much more in life and don't take any of my son's milestones for granted!! 

Last year we decided to participate in the march of dimes walk.  We were able to raise 176% of our goal & had a nice morning of the walk with a ton of other families, all with different journeys and stories to tell!  We are planning to participate again this year, on my son's 3rd birthday & I'm hoping for another great turn out!  I made this simple layout of a few photos of our team of walkers & our family at the event last year to kick off our fundraising this year.

 

 

I want my son to be inspired that he overcame so much so early, he can do anything & also to give back!  No one is prepared to go though a long sometimes really hard NICU stay.  My heart goes out to families dealing with their own journey right now.  Every baby is such a gift!!

Learning our ABC

I made an ABC animal book for my son with photos we took at our zoo. (All but a few where taken at the zoo!) When I saw that Bella Blvd. paper I knew I wanted to make a layout as well.  Love how this turned out.

The top heart layer comes out to hold some journaling about making a list of animals and spending a day as a family finding all of them! TFL!
